Short version: we collect what we need to run your account, show your cosmetics and process payments, and nothing else. We don't sell your data and we don't run ads.
What we collect
- Your Minecraft identity — username and UUID, received when you sign in. We never receive your Microsoft password.
- Your Ember data — coin balance, cosmetics you own and have equipped, codes you've redeemed, and a history of coin transactions.
- Payments — the package, amount, currency, payment status and the reference ID from Stripe or PayPal. Card and bank details go straight to them; we never see or store them.
- Discord — if you choose to link it, your Discord user ID.
- While you play — the client tells our servers which nearby players to load cosmetics for, using their UUIDs. We don't log your chat, your inputs, or which servers you join.
- Technical logs — IP addresses and request logs, kept for up to 30 days to stop abuse and fix problems.
What stays on your computer
Your Microsoft and Minecraft tokens are stored encrypted on your PC by the launcher and are only sent to Microsoft and Mojang. Screenshots, settings and crash logs stay local unless you share them yourself.
Who we share it with
- Stripe and PayPal, to process payments you start.
- Discord, if you link your account and use our bot.
- Hosting providers that run our servers, under contracts that keep the data confidential.
- Other Ember players see your username and equipped cosmetics — that's the point of them.
We'll disclose data if the law requires it, and only what's required.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your Ember account. Deleting it removes your coins and cosmetics permanently. Payment records we're legally required to keep are retained for as long as the law says. Email support@ember.gg from the address on your receipts, or ask on Discord and we'll verify it's you.
Children
Ember isn't directed at children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal data without a parent's consent, contact us and we'll delete it.
Cookies
This website doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies. Your browser may store small preferences locally, which never leave your device.
Changes
If we change how we use your data, we'll update this page and announce it in the news before the change applies.
