Installing

Three steps, mostly waiting.

  1. Run the installer

    Windows may show a SmartScreen notice for new apps. Click “More info” → “Run anyway”. You can pick the install folder.

  2. Sign in with Microsoft

    Use the account that owns Minecraft: Java Edition. The sign-in happens on Microsoft's own page — we never see your password.

  3. Press Play

    The first launch downloads Java 8 and the game files (around 250 MB). After that it opens in seconds.

Requirements

Runs on most PCs that run Minecraft.

If vanilla 1.8.9 opens on your machine, Ember will too — and faster. You don't need Java installed beforehand.
